Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
The survivors of the Ori fleet’s attack regroup as Vala gives birth to Adria, a child engineered by the Ori to command their crusade. Daniel and Vala escape the flagship but must leave her behind. SG-1 continues searching for Merlin’s anti-ascended weapon, the Sangraal, while Vala works to earn a place at Stargate Command. The enemy is now bound to her family: her daughter leads the invasion, and her husband Tomin serves in its army.
The search eventually brings Merlin’s knowledge into Daniel, whose transformation into a Prior makes the others doubt his loyalties. He has been working with Merlin on a plan, and the team sends the completed weapon through the Supergate into the Ori galaxy. Daniel returns to normal, but they cannot confirm whether the Ori have been destroyed, and more warships arrive. Ba’al subsequently implants Adria with a cloned symbiote in an attempt to take her power. Removing it does not save her mortal body; she ascends rather than die.
In the final episode, the dying Asgard transfer their accumulated knowledge and technology to Odyssey before destroying themselves. Pursued by Ori ships, Carter activates a time-dilation field just before an energy beam strikes. SG-1 and Landry spend fifty years aboard; Landry dies, and Daniel and Vala build a life together. Carter eventually finds a way to reverse those years, with Teal’c remaining outside the reversal to carry back the solution. He alone retains the age and memories of their confinement. Odyssey escapes with the Asgard legacy, and the team resumes its missions without a final resolution to the Ori war.
