Season synopsis

Riker’s order to fire carries over from the previous season. The Enterprise reaches Wolf 359 after the Federation fleet has been destroyed, then helps stop the Borg attack and recover Picard. Data uses a neural link to reach the captain inside Locutus, whose knowledge helps the crew turn the Borg’s own network against the cube. Picard survives, but the encounter leaves him shaken; after the ship returns to Earth for repairs, he visits his brother Robert at the family vineyard and the two confront years of resentment. The rescue closes the immediate battle while leaving Picard and the crew to face its cost.
Worf’s family history also moves forward. K’Ehleyr returns as an envoy, brings their young son Alexander into Worf’s life, and is killed by Duras after uncovering that Duras’s father, not Worf’s father Mogh, betrayed the Klingons and framed Mogh. Worf kills Duras, while Picard mediates the succession that places Gowron at the head of the High Council. The Enterprise later visits Tasha Yar’s homeworld and meets her sister Ishara, whose cooperation with Data is complicated by her separate political aims.
The final story returns to the Klingon Empire as the Duras sisters challenge Gowron and civil war threatens. Gowron restores Worf’s family honor. Worf then resigns his commission to fight alongside his brother, while Picard refuses to involve Starfleet in an internal Klingon war. The last moments reveal a Romulan ally whose face resembles Tasha Yar, leaving her identity and the conflict unresolved.
