Yeong-ro finds Soo-ho wounded in room 207 and persuades her roommates to hide him. She believes he is being hunted for protesting, while Hye-ryeong worries that the officers' description of a spy could be true. Seol-hui fears the consequences of being caught, and Jeong-min argues that handing him over could implicate them all. Matron Pi Seung-hee orders students to lock their doors as Gang-mu and Han-na force their way through the dormitory. The women clean away blood and move Soo-ho into the communal bathing area, leaving Hye-ryeong to answer questions alone. Their improvised concealment prevents the search from finding him.
With caretaker Man-dong's help, Yeong-ro moves Soo-ho into an unused room on the fourth floor. He must stay quiet because students study directly below him. She brings food, medicine and supplies while he asks for a radio, batteries and information that could help him leave. Their conversations turn to family: a misunderstanding over his necklace eases when he explains that it came from his sister, and he learns that the visiting man Yeong-ro embraces is her brother. The hiding place remains vulnerable to ordinary accidents. Noise carries downstairs, and water from washing a bloody cloth leaks through the ceiling. A complaint brings Seung-hee upstairs, with Man-dong warning the hidden pair through his coughing as she demands entry.
