Lucifer

Season 4

Season synopsis

Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.

Chloe knows Lucifer is the Devil after the previous season’s final reveal, and she struggles to reconcile that truth with the partner she trusts. Father Kinley offers her a way to prevent a prophecy he says will unleash evil, but his plan deepens the divide between Chloe and Lucifer. Eve arrives in Los Angeles and reconnects with Lucifer, encouraging his punitive side as they join Chloe’s investigations. Lucifer begins treating suspects as targets for punishment, while Dan’s anger over Charlotte’s death makes him pursue his own alliance against him. Amenadiel and Linda prepare for their son Charlie as celestial relatives question whether a human child can be safe on Earth.

Kinley’s death does not end the prophecy: demons possess human bodies and come to Los Angeles to make Charlie their new king. When Dromos abducts the baby, Eve realizes the demons have gone beyond what she wanted and helps Chloe and Lucifer find the ritual site. Maze and Amenadiel join the rescue, and the group stops the demons before they can use Charlie. Lucifer reveals his Devil form to order the demons back to Hell. Chloe tells him she is no longer afraid of his face, and he says she was always his first love. Knowing demons may return to threaten Chloe and Charlie, Lucifer leaves Earth and goes back to rule Hell.
