After Daniel's death in 1977, Jack wants to carry out his plan to detonate Jughead and prevent the future crash of Flight 815. Kate objects to erasing everything they experienced together. Captured by the Others, they explain Daniel's identity and intentions to Eloise, who agrees to lead them to the buried bomb. Sayid intervenes when an Other threatens Kate, but Kate still refuses to join the plan and heads back toward the barracks.
At Dharma, Radzinsky interrogates Sawyer and Juliet about Ben's disappearance, beating Sawyer while Phil strikes Juliet. Elsewhere, Chang questions Hurley, Miles and Jin about Daniel's warning. Hurley's answers expose their future origins, and Miles confirms that Chang is his father. Chang urges an evacuation. Sawyer bargains for passage off the island and boards the submarine with Juliet, intending to leave their life there behind. Kate is brought aboard as another prisoner before the vessel departs. Jack, Sayid, Eloise and Richard reach the underground chamber containing Jughead.
In 2007, Locke joins the Others and takes Richard and Ben to the place where his earlier, wounded self will appear. He tells Richard how to treat that Locke and deliver the instructions that began his journey off the island. Sun asks Richard about the people in the Dharma photograph, and he claims he watched them die. Locke then invites the whole camp to meet Jacob. Although he tells Sun Jacob can help their friends, he privately tells Ben that he intends to kill Jacob.
