Aaron develops a fever and rash, frightening Claire after Rousseau warns that he may be infected. Jack expects the illness to pass, but Claire begins recovering memories of injections during her abduction. Libby helps her recall more, and Claire decides to search for the medicine she remembers. She leaves Aaron with Sun and persuades Kate to accompany her, then seeks Rousseau as a guide to the place where she returned from captivity.
The returning memories show Ethan treating a drugged Claire in a medical facility and leading her into a furnished nursery. Another man criticises him for bringing her there before obtaining a list. Ethan discusses keeping the baby while Claire is still confused and compliant. These scenes belong to the period when she was missing from the survivors' camp. In the present, familiar landmarks lead Claire, Kate and Rousseau to an abandoned station marked with a medical symbol.
Kate finds clothing, makeup and a false beard, suggesting that the Others' rough appearance was a disguise. Claire finds the medicine refrigerator empty and remembers a young woman helping her escape. She also realises Rousseau protected her rather than returning her to her captors. Claire describes the girl to Rousseau without confirming who she is. Back at camp, Aaron's fever has broken. Claire gives him a small knitted bootie recovered from the abandoned nursery.
