About the series

Kim Possible pairs Middleton school life with international rescues: Kim acts on calls for help with Ron Stoppable, Rufus and Wade’s technical support, then has to return to class and family. In ‘The New Ron,’ a haircut makes Ron unexpectedly popular, but the friends’ trip to Paris for more styling gel coincides with a blackout affecting much of Europe. Wade traces the power failure to a private island owned by Señor Senior Sr. Ron casually describes how a private island could become a base for world domination, giving the bored millionaire and his son an idea for their next crime. The story makes Ron’s indiscretion the spark for the villain plot, while Kim’s mission work takes them from an ordinary attempt to fix a hairstyle into an international power crisis.

In ‘The Twin Factor,’ Kim has promised to babysit Jim and Tim on the same day she must investigate a break-in at a secret laboratory. Taking them along seems like the only way to keep both commitments, but the boys’ curiosity causes trouble and nearly leads to an aircraft accident. Drakken captures Kim and fits her with a mind-control chip, making the twins’ presence suddenly more than a liability. Their knowledge of Kim and their initiative help turn the tables on the villain. The episode changes the usual mission team by placing the younger brothers inside it: Kim cannot leave them at home, and they have to respond when the operation becomes dangerous. The outcome converts a family obligation into an unexpected rescue asset without pretending the Tweebs have become trained agents.

‘All the News’ links school gossip to a televised stunt scandal. Ron invents a newspaper item suggesting Kim has a crush on athlete Brick Flagg, and the rumour complicates her public image just as she and Ron expose Adrena-Lynn’s stunts as staged. The revelation costs the television host viewers and her show, so she retaliates by kidnapping Brick and hijacking television channels to broadcast a confrontation with Kim. Kim and Ron must deal with the consequences of revealing a fraud: the stunt performer turns the exposure into a live spectacle and assumes Brick is Kim’s boyfriend. The episode therefore carries the school rumour into the threat itself, while the mission revolves around an entertainer who has built a career on a false appearance of danger.

‘Animal Attraction’ sends Kim after a stolen shock-freezer taken from Pop-Pop Porter, a frozen-snack magnate. Señor Senior Sr. and Junior plan to freeze the billionaires’ club as revenge after the older Senior is expelled for fighting with Kim. Their weapon comes from a food factory, an absurd industrial theft turned into a targeted attack on the club. The case becomes harder because the villain’s son is absorbed in Animology, a school fad that classifies students by animal traits and predicts compatible partners. The quiz labels Kim and Junior as a match, distracting the pair and complicating the pursuit of the freezer. Kim and Ron get close to the freeze ray themselves; Junior’s fixation on the fad creates an opening, but the episode does not turn the quiz into a lasting relationship between him and Kim.

‘Naked Genius’ begins with a government project called Phoebus and Drakken’s attempt to exploit its brain-enhancing ray. Rufus accidentally receives the beam and becomes hyperintelligent; with the naked mole-rat hidden in his sleeve, Ron suddenly excels on a school mathematics test. Drakken mistakes Ron for the source of the new intelligence and kidnaps him to force him to build a doomsday machine. Kim and the genuinely enhanced Rufus have to retrieve Ron and stop Drakken’s scheme. The mix-up is specific to the friends’ everyday lives: Ron’s school success is not his own, but it puts him in danger and he still cannot resist using the attention. Rufus’s intelligence, usually a small supporting advantage, becomes the reason the rescue can succeed.

Ron’s insecurity also drives ‘Ron the Man,’ where a missing signature on his Bar Mitzvah certificate makes him worry that he is not yet a man. Kim reassures him, but the assignment brings them into a contest between Professor Dementor and Drakken over a stolen vortex inducer. Dementor’s henchmen wear rings that give them great strength, and Ron puts one on to compensate for his doubts. The ring gives him physical power but does not resolve the question that prompted him to wear it. In ‘Grudge Match,’ the mission begins when an AI super-robot is stolen from the space centre where Kim’s father works; the trail leads to an underground club where robot designers stage fights. Ron, meanwhile, tries to impress new student Zita. The separate plots let his awkward romantic effort run beside Kim’s investigation rather than replacing it.

The first-season finale ‘Low Budget’ makes Kim’s damaged clothes part of an internet-takeover case. Forced to shop at Smarty Mart, she finds a villain hiding in an everyday discount store: Frugal Lucre plans to extort a dollar from everyone and threatens to destroy the internet with a virus if they refuse. He is a store employee, and his planned trigger is a barcode on an expired can being scanned at checkout. Wade traces Lucre’s broadcast to the store, and Kim and Ron identify him as Francis Lurman before pursuing him past a net guarded by snapping turtles. When only a handful of people pay, Lucre moves ahead with the virus; Ron searches for the can while Kim tags him with a security device that captures him at the front of the store. The threat turns on an ordinary checkout, and the rescue ends with the would-be extortionist in custody.
