Season synopsis

Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.

Six months after Mike Delfino is deliberately struck by Orson, he remains in a coma while Susan begins dating Ian Hainsworth, whose wife is also unconscious. Mike wakes with amnesia, and Edie misleads him about his relationship with Susan; Susan works to restore his memories while deciding between Mike and Ian. Lynette and Tom fold Tom’s daughter Kayla and her mother Nora into family life. During a supermarket hostage siege, Carolyn Bigsby shoots and kills Nora and wounds Lynette; another hostage shoots Carolyn dead.

Bree marries Orson Hodge, but neighbor Carolyn accuses him of killing his missing first wife, Alma. Police find Monique Polier’s body; Mike’s recovered memories clear him of the murder. Orson admits his connection: his mother Gloria killed Monique, removed her teeth and enlisted him to hide the body. Gloria later tries to kill Bree and make it look like suicide, but Orson intervenes. Gabrielle and Carlos continue their divorce after she discovers his affair with surrogate Xiao-Mei; when Xiao-Mei gives birth, the clinic reveals the embryo is not theirs. Gabrielle later marries mayor Victor Lang, while she and Carlos remain drawn to each other.

Susan and Mike become engaged and marry in a small ceremony with Julie present. Lynette is diagnosed with lymphoma, and her estranged mother Stella arrives to help despite their painful history. Bree returns from her honeymoon wearing a false pregnancy bump so she and Orson can raise Danielle’s baby as their own. At Gabrielle’s wedding, she learns Victor married her to advance his political career and kisses Carlos; Carlos ends things with Edie after discovering her birth-control deception. Edie attempts suicide by hanging, leaving her fate unresolved at the season’s close.
