Mo-yeon's reunion with Shi-jin leaves her relieved and angry after a year of believing he was dead. In Uruk, snow falls as Myung-joo sees Dae-young approaching with his arm still supported. He tells her he will not leave her again. The men explain that militia fighters dragged them to shelter before the explosion and held them captive for months. Ahn Jung-joon arrived before their execution and repaid Shi-jin's earlier help by rescuing them. Their return brings emotional welcomes from commanding officers and teammates, followed by the less glamorous work of explaining what happened and returning to their duties.
The couples begin rebuilding ordinary routines. Shi-jin receives a promotion, while Dae-young intends to remain both a soldier and Myung-joo's partner. General Yoon finally accepts him without demanding his discharge. Shi-jin and Mo-yeon return to the beach, and the wider group gathers for Daniel and Ye-hwa's wedding in Canada. Friends who worked through the Uruk crises can now meet in happier circumstances, with Dae-young reluctant to surrender the bouquet. A warning about a volcanic eruption interrupts the reception. The doctors and soldiers prepare to help, carrying their renewed relationships into another emergency rather than waiting for someone else to respond. The celebration ends as the reunited friends turn toward the people needing help.
