Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
Chuck and Sarah run Carmichael Industries with Casey and Morgan and own the Buy More. Morgan’s Intersect grants spy skills but disrupts his personality, so Chuck must protect him as Sarah and Casey once protected Chuck. Chuck reaches Morgan through their shared memories, then has to lead missions without the database in his own head. The team contends with rival spy Gertrude Verbanski, Casey’s daughter Alex and returning adversary Daniel Shaw, as Chuck and Sarah consider life beyond missions.
Nicholas Quinn’s Intersect plot turns Sarah into the team’s next unwilling host. When she and Casey are outnumbered while trying to save Chuck, Sarah uploads a faulty copy of the Intersect from the glasses and uses its skills to rescue them. Quinn then captures her and forces repeated flashes, wiping her memories of Chuck and their years together; he lies to her about being her handler and sends her after Chuck. Sarah and Chuck pursue Quinn through Germany, retracing places from their early missions as familiar details stir fragments of her past. The final confrontation puts the team and a crowded building at risk: Chuck must upload the repaired Intersect to himself to stop Quinn’s bomb, giving up the one remaining chance to use it to restore Sarah’s memories. They defeat Quinn, but her memory is still not restored. Chuck tells her their story on the beach, and when he mentions Morgan’s idea that a kiss might help, Sarah asks him to kiss her. The series ends with that possibility open rather than confirming a complete recovery.
