Paying Hank's treatment bills gives Skyler a reason to look closely at how Walt can make his drug money appear legitimate. She meets Saul but rejects his proposed laser-tag business as an implausible investment for Walt. Instead, she suggests the car wash where he previously worked and offers to run it. Walt worries about involving her directly, while Skyler reveals that she has not filed the divorce papers. Her insistence on a believable explanation makes her involvement more concrete than merely accepting the gambling story she told Marie.
Jesse continues trying to sell stolen laboratory meth through his support group, but Badger and Skinny Pete are reluctant to target people working to stay clean. He approaches Andrea intending to demonstrate how easy it is, then develops an attraction to her. Discovering her young son Brock changes his willingness to offer her drugs. Andrea also tells him about her younger brother Tomás, who has become involved with a gang and killed a rival dealer. Jesse recognises the circumstances of Combo's death. He visits the corner where Combo was shot, buys meth from Tomás and identifies the men controlling the territory. Elsewhere, Gus invites Walt to dinner and offers advice about learning from mistakes. Jesse's new relationship has brought him back to a killing he has not put behind him.
