Walter and Jesse bring their RV back from the desert with a problem far beyond selling drugs: they must conceal the aftermath of their first deal. Emilio is dead, but Krazy-8 has survived the gas. When he escapes and staggers into the street, Walt retrieves him and brings him back to Jesse's house. They secure him to a basement support with a bicycle lock, then divide the remaining tasks by tossing a coin. Jesse will dispose of Emilio's body, leaving Walt responsible for killing their captive. Walt cannot follow through and instead brings Krazy-8 food, water and supplies, postponing a decision that neither partner can safely ignore.
At home, Skyler notices Walt's unexplained absences and unusual behaviour. A telephone call leads her to Jesse, and Walt claims that the young man merely sells him marijuana. Skyler visits Jesse herself, warning him to leave her husband alone and mentioning Hank's job with the DEA. She arrives while Jesse is handling Emilio's remains but leaves without realising what is happening. Jesse then ignores Walt's instruction to buy a suitable plastic container, using the upstairs bathtub for the chemical disposal instead. The tub and floor give way, dropping a gruesome mess into the hallway. Their attempt to conceal one death has damaged the house, while Krazy-8 remains alive downstairs. Elsewhere, children discover a discarded gas mask in the desert.
