Season 10

Season synopsis

Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.

Season 10 opens three months after the attack on Booth’s home, with Booth imprisoned and Brennan working to clear him. Once she secures his release, Booth returns to the investigation into an FBI conspiracy, joined by new agent James Aubrey. The conspiracy takes a personal turn when Sweets, who is trying to serve a warrant for evidence, is killed by one of the conspirators. Daisy is pregnant with Sweets’s child, and the team’s nontraditional funeral and the birth of their son give the loss a continuing place in their lives.

Aubrey becomes Booth’s partner as the FBI mistrust left by the conspiracy gradually eases. Booth and Brennan resume their work together, but Booth’s gambling addiction resurfaces and he lies about it. A bookie demands payment from Brennan, who pays the debt and makes Booth leave their home. Booth returns to Gamblers Anonymous; after he reaches thirty days without gambling, Brennan invites him to spend the night, beginning their reconciliation.

In the finale, a murder case revives evidence connected to Pelant, and Booth and Brennan confront what they want from their lives after years of dangerous work. Angela locates Hodgins’s stolen billions; he asks her to donate the money to charity. Seeing how much he values the Jeffersonian, she abandons their Paris move. Booth decides the current case will be his last with the FBI; Brennan also leaves the lab, and they say goodbye to colleagues. Angela shows Brennan Pelant’s recorded message, but Brennan refuses to let him pull her back into his schemes.
