Tuco believes the Lindholm twins deliberately targeted his grandmother, though Cal and Lars meant to stage a fake injury scam against Betsy Kettleman. He beats them and takes Jimmy, the twins and his crew into the desert. Jimmy tries to explain that the boys made a foolish mistake, then claims to be an FBI agent when Tuco threatens him. Nacho Varga sees through the lie and pushes Jimmy to admit he is a lawyer.
Nacho argues that killing Jimmy would bring unwanted attention, but Tuco still intends to punish the twins severely. Jimmy talks him down by asking him to consider their mother, bargaining over the harm Tuco will inflict. Tuco breaks one leg on each brother and lets Jimmy go. Jimmy walks away shaken by how close his attempt to win the Kettlemans as clients came to becoming a death sentence for himself and the skaters.
Back at his office, Jimmy returns to his routine of low-paid court work and parking-lot arguments with Mike. Nacho visits and proposes stealing the Kettlemans’ hidden $1.6 million, offering Jimmy a finder’s fee. Jimmy insists that he is a lawyer rather than a criminal, but Nacho leaves his number on one of Jimmy’s matchbooks. The invitation to enter the criminal world remains in front of him as the episode ends.
