Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
Knowing the Crisis is approaching, Oliver works with the Monitor on missions across the multiverse, including an Earth-2 version of Star City where Tommy Merlyn has become the Dark Archer. William, Mia and Connor are transported from 2040 to 2019, giving Oliver a chance to know his grown children before the Crisis. The Crisis arrives before the team can prevent it: the Anti-Monitor destroys Earths, and Oliver dies helping others escape. In purgatory, Jim Corrigan recruits him to become the Spectre. Oliver then guides the surviving Paragons toward the dawn of time, helping them confront the Anti-Monitor and create a new universe. His sacrifice ends the immediate threat, but costs him his life.
The final episodes follow the changed world and the people Oliver left behind. Earlier 2040 flashforwards show William and Mia joining Connor against a Deathstroke gang empowered after Star City’s wall fell. After Crisis changes the timeline, a quieter future has Mia engaged and Zoe alive; Mia regains her old memories, takes up the Green Arrow name and helps find a kidnapped girl. Sara then brings Mia to the present for Oliver’s funeral. In the remade world, people who died in the old timeline, including Moira, Quentin, Tommy and Emiko, are alive again; Oliver’s friends gather to honor the man who brought them together. A final flashback shows Oliver choosing to spare a criminal and trust Diggle, marking the turn from the Hood toward the hero he became. In 2040, Felicity leaves with the Monitor to meet Oliver in the afterlife, while Diggle discovers a green-glowing object that points toward a new path of his own.
