Simone survives being hit by the bus and is taken to hospital, giving Jack and Kate a chance to question her. Jack presses on the wound left by her missing finger, but she resists betraying her mother. Kate speaks with Yasmin and learns how Simone killed Farah. Margot discovers where her daughter has been taken and sends a man to silence her before the CIA can extract useful information.
The assassin overhears Kate discussing Simone's condition and reports back. After he is spotted and killed, Jack finds a warning of an imminent drone strike on his phone. Jack and Kate begin evacuating the hospital and remove Simone, but missiles hit the building before everyone can be brought clear. Margot continues pursuing their car with the drone. Jack changes vehicles and sends an empty car into its path, drawing the final missile away from the people he is trying to save.
Navarro's contact is revealed to be Cross, who warns that Jordan's research could expose their sale of intelligence and the framing of Kate's husband. Navarro sends Jordan on a supposed field assignment, where a gunman shoots him. Jordan escapes wounded rather than being killed. Mark faces pressure from the Russians after they recognise that he forged the surrender order for Jack. Heller, preparing to resign once the crisis ends, summons Jack and secretly contacts Margot. He offers to surrender himself if she will stop the attacks on London.
