Spoilers for this episode.
Jack finds Yates dead and pursues Simone through the London Underground while Chloe tracks her movements. Simone cuts herself and uses the blood to convince bystanders that Jack is attacking her, buying an opportunity to escape. Chloe then loses sight of her after becoming distracted by a family. Confronted by Jack, she reveals that her husband and son died in a car crash which she believes was intended to kill her.
Simone brings the override device to her mother, Margot Al-Harazi, whose husband died in a drone strike authorised by Heller. Margot's son Ian is helping prepare attacks on London, while Simone's husband Naveed is increasingly uneasy about his part in the plan. Margot monitors the household, including the couple's private conversations. Back with Open Cell, Jack seeks access to Tanner at the American embassy, hoping the pilot's flight records can prove that his drone was hijacked.
Kate forces information from Basher by threatening to hand him to a hostile gang, then heads toward the embassy with Erik Ritter. Mark forges Heller's signature on an order to surrender Jack to Russia, while the president proceeds with his parliamentary address despite his family's objections. Cross sabotages the false credentials prepared for Jack, alerting embassy security. Warned by Chloe, Jack instead takes a policeman's weapon and shoots protesters in the legs to create a panic. He uses the resulting confusion to enter the embassy, with Kate and Erik following.
