A call intercepted by CTU leads Jack to Mark Hauser, who has sold Gredenko security information and used his brother Brady's computer skills to obtain it. Mark is wounded when the team enters his house. Jack speaks gently to Brady, then pressures Mark to help arrange a meeting. Gredenko wants new security specifications for the Edgemont nuclear power plant, giving CTU a chance to capture him before another attack.
Doyle receives evidence that Nadia's computer was breached from outside CTU. Connell Johnson tries to make Milo believe Doyle has hidden it, but Morris confirms that Doyle already handed it over for examination. Buchanan clears Nadia and asks her to stay at work. In Washington, Karen persuades Sandra Palmer to let the doctors wake Wayne despite the danger. Sandra continues the attempt when his condition becomes more uncertain.
Brady carries the information to Gredenko while Jack talks him through the meeting over an earpiece. When Gredenko orders his death, Jack tells Brady to drop, allowing the team to shoot and capture the terrorists. Gredenko offers to deliver Fayed in return for amnesty and protection from Russia. Daniels proceeds with his retaliatory launch order, but Wayne regains consciousness and stops it. Daniels responds by seeking the attorney general's help to challenge the president's fitness for office.
