Stellar Blade Getting Started: Block, Parry, Punish
On this page
Defend with a reason
Hold Block to reduce damage from frontal attacks while you learn a sequence. Tap Block just before impact for a Perfect Parry: it avoids the hit and reduces the enemy’s balance. Repeated successful parries can create a stagger and Retribution opening, but one parry does not guarantee an instant stagger.
A normal Dodge creates space. A last-second Perfect Dodge passes through the incoming hit and keeps Eve close enough to answer. Neither tool replaces the other; study the attack and use the response you can execute consistently.
Turn reads into damage
Basic attacks build Beta Energy for Beta Skills. Perfect Dodge, Blink, and Repulse build Burst Energy once those systems are available. Spend either resource on a clear opening instead of forcing a long combo while the enemy is still active.
| Problem | First adjustment |
|---|---|
| Parry timing is unclear | Hold Block for one sequence and watch each impact |
| A crowd surrounds Eve | Move to split it, then use a short combo |
| Burst Energy stays empty | Practise one Perfect Dodge or prompted special evade |
| Healing is low | Rest at camp, knowing regular enemies will return |
Use the Skill Settings console to practise unlocked moves before buying several follow-ups. Parry and Evade explains the defensive choices; Camps and Quests covers checkpoints and side work.
