Meet the Quota

On this page

Lethal Company casts you as a contracted worker for the Company, collecting scrap from abandoned, industrialised moons to meet a profit quota. The publisher’s advice is blunt: just never miss the quota.

Scrap delivered is the score

Three stages of the Lethal Company loop: land on a moon, collect scrap for the quota, then spend the cash on a riskier moon or ship extras.
The quota is the win condition, not survival. Open the full image.

The game is described as a co-op horror about scavenging at abandoned moons and selling scrap to the Company. That makes the quota the actual objective and survival the method, which changes decisions: a risky haul that lands is worth more than a safe trip that returns nothing.

Moons are priced in risk

Cash earned lets you travel to new moons with higher risks and higher rewards. That is a deliberate dial rather than a difficulty setting, so the useful habit is choosing the moon for the quota in front of you instead of always taking the richest one on the list.

Cash has an optional sink

The store notes you can also spend on suits and decorations for your ship. Those are real purchases with no bearing on the quota, so treat them as what they are: spending money on personality while the job still needs doing.

Scan what you meet

Scanning any creature you find adds it to your bestiary, which turns exploration into information. Because the hazards are the reason trips fail, a filled bestiary is quietly one of the most valuable things the crew owns.

The crew needs a plan for the walk home: read tools and the trip home. And put someone useful on the radio with running the ship as a command post.
