Khazan: Skills, Phantom Form and Spirit of Advocacy

Reset skills to test a different answer

Khazan lets you reset weapon skills at any time and from anywhere, so use the tree to test a plan instead of treating an early choice as permanent. Start with moves you can repeat under pressure. If a longer combo keeps leaving you exposed, move points into a shorter response or a weapon route that fits the opening you can actually see.

Change one part of the plan at a time, then test it against the same enemy or boss. That makes it easier to tell whether a new skill improved the fight or only changed the animation you were using.

Keep the three Phantom systems separate

System What it does Player decision
Equipped Phantom effects Passive or triggered bonuses that support a build Choose a Phantom whose effect helps the weapon plan you are practising
Phantom Form Khazan’s temporary transformation Fill the gauge, activate it when you can use its window, and avoid taking unnecessary hits while it is active
Spirit of Advocacy An NPC ally for supported Guardian fights Spend a Lacrima of Circulation at the summon point before the boss gate

Phantom Form is not an NPC summon. Defeating enemies, performing Brutal Attacks, and using Spirit skills build its gauge. Once transformed, the form has a limited window, and incoming damage drains the form’s gauge instead of Khazan’s health.

Unlock, summon, and improve the Spirit of Advocacy

The Spirit of Advocacy becomes available after the Revenant of Adversity encounter in the Forgotten Temple mission. At eligible Guardian fights, interact with the summon light near the boss entrance and spend a Lacrima of Circulation before entering.

Lacrima of Circulation comes from Revenants of Adversity, so decide whether a piece should pay for an immediate summon or an upgrade. After the Forgotten Temple mission, speak with Daphrona at the Crevice to improve the Spirit with that resource. An upgraded ally can make a new boss easier to read, but it does not replace learning the defensive sequence.

Equipped Phantoms can also affect this choice. Veronika is an equipped Phantom whose effect improves Spirit of Advocacy damage; she is a build bonus, not the ally that appears at the gate. Check the name of the system before spending a resource or expecting a transformation.

If you are pursuing Standing Alone, confirm its no-Spirit-of-Advocacy requirement before you summon. Otherwise, use the ally when it gives you space to learn an unfamiliar Guardian, then return to Brink Guard & Dodge to practise the timing you still need.
