Explore Thedas and Its Add-Ons

On this page

The world of Thedas has never been bigger or more detailed according to the store, and Inquisition ships with three add-ons that each take it somewhere quite different.

A world built for wandering

The three Dragon Age: Inquisition add-ons in order: Jaws of Hakkon and the last Inquisitor's dragon, The Descent and the earthquakes, and Trespasser and the Inquisition's fate.
Only the last one closes the story. Open the full image.

Thedas is described as wide open and ripe for exploration, with enemy keeps ripe for the taking and hidden caves filled with lurking creatures. Since uncovering its secrets can spell the difference between victory and defeat, exploration is presented as part of the campaign rather than as a detour from it.

Jaws of Hakkon and The Descent

Jaws of Hakkon sends you after the fate of the last Inquisitor and the powerful dragon he hunted, while The Descent takes you underground to reveal the source of mysterious earthquakes threatening Thedas. Two add-ons, two very different kinds of answer to the same question of what is really going on.

Trespasser decides the ending

Trespasser is where you decide the Inquisition’s final fate as new threats emerge, which makes it the add-on that closes the story rather than extending it sideways. The edition the store describes includes all three, so there is no ordering decision to make about what you actually own.

The decisions that shape what Thedas becomes are covered in leading the Inquisition. How the fighting works is covered in choosing the strategic view.
