Set Up the Greymane Camp

On this page

Pywel is described as a continent of battles and exploration, but also of smaller moments that shape your journey and make up your day-to-day life.

The camp is the starting point

Four parts of Crimson Desert's daily loop: upgrade the Greymane camp, gather resources, cook fish and hunt, and brew dyes for customisation.
The camp is the spine of a session. Open the full image.

Upgrading the Greymane camp is named as the starting point on the path to reclaiming the Greymanes’ lost homeland of Pailune. That makes it the one structure worth investing in early, because it is the base the rest of the campaign is measured from rather than a decorative hub.

Gather, cook, hunt, fish

Gathering resources, cooking, fishing and hunting are all listed, and they are tied to something practical rather than to flavour alone: stat replenishment and making your equipment stronger. Treating them as chores misses the point of the design, since they are the loop that feeds the fights.

Customise what you carry and wear

Shaping daily life also extends to your character: hairstyles, tattoos and outfits can be adjusted using dyes you brew or pick up along the journey. The store mentions minigames with the locals as well, which is the clearest sign that the pace of a session is meant to vary rather than stay at combat speed.

The combat this loop supports is covered in fighting without a single path. Where the exploring actually happens is covered in exploring Pywel and the Abyss.
