Water Bound
The last thing Lev Prakenskii remembers is being lost in the currents of the ocean and pulled deeper into a freezing black eddy off the coastal town of Sea Haven, and then being saved by a stranger.
About
Water Bound is a paranormal romance novel by Christine Feehan, published in 2010 and set in the coastal town of Sea Haven. Its central character, Lev Prakenskii, is pulled out of the water before he has any idea who he is.
What he remembers is being caught in the swirling currents and sucked down into a freezing black eddy, and then being brought ashore. The woman who saves him is called Rikki, and she earns her living as a sea-urchin diver in the town.
Lev's problem is that the rescue does not restore anything. He has no memory of his identity, and what he does have is a set of instincts that look like those of somebody trained to kill, which leaves him afraid for his own life and for the life of the person who saved him.
The novel is about a man who is dangerous to be near and a woman who works on the water he nearly drowned in, and about what has to be established before either of them can trust the other.
