Valentine's day
Kemp Irvine blames an unknown woman for the death of his cousin Philip, which is also the event that brought him an inheritance he never wanted.
About
Valentine's day is a romance novel by the British writer Jayne Bauling, issued by Mills & Boon in this printing of 189 pages.
Kemp Irvine came into an inheritance only because his cousin Philip died, and he has never wanted it. Alongside the money he has carried a grudge against the woman he holds responsible for Philip's death, whose identity he does not know. She is Valentine, and she is aware of who he is and of what he would think of her if he found out. She knows she has to tell him. The novel follows the period in which she does not, because she wants a little more time in his company first, and the longer the truth goes unsaid the harder it becomes to say.
Valentine is living on borrowed time and knows it, which is what makes the delay a coward's choice.
