The Ties That Bind

The Ties That Bind is a romance novel by the American writer Jayne Ann Krentz, issued by Harlequin in this printing of 220 pages, ISBN 9780373252091.

Shannon Raine meets Garth Sheridan and finds herself drawn to him immediately, in a way she cannot account for. Garth appears to feel something similar, and the two of them begin an affair that is intense from the start. What Shannon cannot get past is that he keeps part of his life closed: she is welcome in some of it and firmly excluded from the rest, and he does not explain why. The book follows her attempts to find out what he is hiding and what it means that he will not tell her. Garth works in the computer electronics industry, and the secrecy around him is not simply a matter of temperament.
