Single Dad Next Door

Single Dad Next Door is a romance novel by the American writer Jessica Keller, published in 2015 by Harlequin in its Love Inspired line of clean and wholesome romances.

Maggie West manages an inn that belonged to her own family, and the arrival of a new neighbour with two small daughters and a legal claim on the property turns her working life and her private hopes upside down at the same time. Kellen Ashby has inherited the inn and has no intention of running it, while Maggie has no intention of giving up the work she has built her life around, and the two of them have to negotiate from that position. The children, the guests and the small town's opinion of the situation are all part of the plot. Keller writes for the Love Inspired programme, which sets the length and keeps the romance within the characters' Christian faith, and the story is domestic rather than dramatic.

Harlequin's inspirational lines publish on a monthly schedule, and the books are written to be read in an evening, with the setting and the community as much a part of the appeal as the couple.
