The Queen of Nothing
Jude Duarte is the exiled mortal queen of Faerie, without power and without a place, after being betrayed by the king she had put on the throne.
About
The Queen of Nothing is a fantasy novel by the American writer Holly Black, published by Little, Brown in 2019.
Jude Duarte was a mortal who made herself a place in Faerie by force of will, and by the beginning of this book she has lost it. She is the exiled Queen of Faerie, with no power and no allies in the realm, and she has been betrayed by Cardan, the king she was responsible for putting on the throne. She waits and works out how to get back what he took. The opportunity comes through her twin sister Taryn, whose life is in danger, and Jude returns to the court she was driven out of in order to deal with a riddle and, if she can, to save the land she is still attached to.
It is the third novel about Jude and the faerie court and it follows the two books before it.
