The Curse

The Curse is a paranormal romance by the American writer Sherrilyn Kenyon, published in 2012. Its heroine is an Alterant, a being of a kind the other powers in her world do not trust, and the novel keeps her under time pressure from the first page.

Evalle is carrying the freedom of an entire race on a promise she has no idea how to keep, with two days left to make good on it. At the same moment demonic Svart Trolls arrive in Atlanta and start the gang wars that will only make the deadline harder to meet.

She takes a risk and asks for help from the one man she would normally avoid: Isak Nyght, a Black Ops specialist who very recently had her in his cross hairs. Working on the trolls leads her to a secret that threatens everyone close to her and complicates her relationship with Storm, the Skinwalker in her life, and the Medb coven's plan to destroy all Beladors has put her at the top of its list of targets.
