The 12 Screams of Christmas
Kate Welles wants the leading part in her school's Christmas play and has to work alongside Courtney, who keeps getting in the way, because otherwise neither of them will be allowed to take part.
About
The 12 Screams of Christmas is a horror novel for younger readers by R. L. Stine, published by Scholastic in 2014.
Kate Welles has one ambition at the beginning of the book, which is to play the lead in her school's production of The 12 Screams of Christmas. The obstacle is Courtney, a friend of the kind who makes everything harder, and the two of them are told that they will have to get along or neither of them will be allowed in the play at all. Their teacher then decides that the cast needs somewhere better than the school hall to rehearse, and chooses a house with a long history, of the sort Kate would normally avoid entering. What the rehearsals turn up gives the phrase Christmas spirit a meaning the class had not intended.
The book is one of the author's Goosebumps-era stories for younger readers.
