Sweet Fury
She is beautiful, exasperating and, in the words of the story, a little hellcat with barnyard manners.
About
Sweet Fury is a historical romance by the American writer Catherine Hart, published in 1990. It is set in a western town.
The book is built around two characters who are opposites: a young woman who is beautiful, exasperating and possessed of what the story calls barnyard manners, and Travis Kincaid, the marshal of the town she lives in. Travis decides that if anybody is going to make a lady of her it will be him, and he sets about doing it in the middle of a town that is being overrun by outlaws and in which his first duty is to keeping the peace. The novel follows the two of them through the argument their relationship becomes, and it belongs to the western romances published in large numbers in the early 1990s, running to more than four hundred pages. Its setting is a frontier town, and the marshal's work is part of the story rather than a background detail.
Hart wrote historical romances across several settings in this period, and this one is among her western titles.
