Star Wars The High Republic - The Fallen Star
Two hundred years before the fall of the Republic, the Jedi are at the height of their confidence and the Republic is expanding, and the raiders known as the Nihil have made it their business to stop them.
About
Star Wars: The High Republic: The Fallen Star is a science fiction novel by the American writer Claudia Gray, published in 2022 and the final adult novel of the High Republic's first phase.
The story takes place about two hundred years before the events of The Phantom Menace, in a period when the Jedi Order is at the height of its confidence and the Republic is expanding into the Outer Rim. The raiders known as the Nihil have been attacking that expansion, and this book follows the aftermath of a disaster at the Republic Fair as the Jedi and the people stationed on the Starlight Beacon recover from what has happened. Marchion Ro, the leader of the Nihil, is preparing the attack the novel is named for, and the Jedi dealing with it are the ones whose training has taught them to expect that they will win. Gray writes the book as a direct sequel to the two novels that precede it in the sequence.
The High Republic is a publishing project rather than a single series, and its stories are written by several authors working in the same period.
