Sins of a Duke
Sebastian Griffin, the Duke of Melbourne, has raised his younger siblings, arranged their matches and kept everyone in line, and he has a reputation for propriety and a life without scandal.
About
Sins of a Duke is a historical romance by Suzanne Enoch, published in 2007. Its male lead, Sebastian Griffin, is the Duke of Melbourne and is regarded as the most powerful man in England.
Sebastian has raised his younger siblings and seen to it that they made correct matches, and he has spent his own life keeping everyone in line. His reputation is for propriety, and he has maintained a life without scandal, which is an achievement he has worked at rather than something he was given.
Then Josefina Katarina Embry arrives and claims to be the princess of a faraway country. She is beautiful and she dazzles the ton with her wit and charm, and Sebastian's response is suspicion rather than admiration: he decides that she is up to something and that he will expose her. Her story is the one thing in London that does not fit his method.
The novel is about a man whose whole method is control finding somebody he cannot control, and it turns on what happens when his investigation keeps putting him back in her company.
