Kennedy is the only woman on the medical staff of a professional baseball team and is trying to keep her reputation intact for one more season.
About
Play Along is a romance novel by the American writer Liz Tomforde, published in 2024 by Golden Boy Publishing and part of the Windy City series.
The narrator is the only woman working on the medical staff of the Windy City Warriors, and she has spent years putting up with a lead doctor who treats her badly. She wants a job with another team next season, and the last thing her position can survive is a scandal. A night out in Las Vegas ends with a fuzzy memory, a ring on her left hand and a marriage to the team's shortstop, Isaiah Rhodes, who is charming and impulsive and rather pleased with himself. His solution is that they present the whole thing as a planned elopement rather than a mistake, which means keeping the pretence up in front of everybody who matters.
The book is one of the Windy City novels and is set mostly in Chicago.
