Persephone Station is a backwater planet that the United Republic of Worlds has ignored for a long time, and the Serrao-Orlov Corporation has begun taking an interest in it because of what it holds.

About

Persephone Station is a science fiction novel by the American writer Stina Leicht, published in 2021.

The planet of the title has been overlooked by the United Republic of Worlds for a long time, and the Serrao-Orlov Corporation has begun to take an interest in it because of the things it holds. Rosie runs a bar on Persephone Station and keeps her own business, and she and the people around her are asked to help a woman who has arrived on the planet at a dangerous moment. What follows is a rescue and an attempt to keep the corporation from doing whatever it likes, told through a cast that is almost entirely female or non-binary, in a settlement whose population has made its own arrangements with the local people. Leicht writes the book as a science fiction adventure with a group at its centre rather than one hero.

It was her third novel, and Leicht has said she wrote it after being struck by how narrow the cast of an adventure film could be.
