Pearl Jinx
The Jinx Inc.
About
Pearl Jinx is a romance by the American writer Sandra Hill, published in 2006. It is one of the novels about the Jinx Inc. treasure-hunting company, and the object of the hunt this time is a set of cave pearls rather than anything made of gold or silver.
Caleb Peach, who leads the expedition, is a former Navy SEAL and a man who goes by the book. The expert he needs is Doctor Claire Cassidy, an archaeologist, and before she will sign anything he has to track her down on a fishing holiday and convince her that the company he works for is as respectable as he claims.
The two of them could hardly be less alike. He is buttoned up, and he still carries a good deal of bitterness from a painful past. She is a free spirit and self-sufficient, and she is not against the idea of love, which is not the same thing as inviting it.
The novel follows the search for the pearls and the attraction that neither of them went looking for. A Cajun healer called Tante Lulu is on hand to help with both, and the book is one of a series in which the hunt and the courtship run alongside each other.
