About
Now You See Her is a thriller by James Patterson, published in 2011. Its central character, Nina Bloom, is a lawyer and a mother in New York, and the life she has built there depends on a story about her past that she has told to everyone she knows.
That story begins nineteen years earlier in Key West, where she had a different name, a handsome police-officer husband and a carefree life. She was pregnant with their first child and happy, and then she found out something she was not supposed to know, had to run for her life and changed her identity.
The past catches up with her when an innocent man is framed for a murder. Nina knows he did not do it, and letting him take the blame for the real killer's crime is not something she is able to live with, so she risks everything she has built in order to return to the place and the people she escaped. Going back also means that whoever frightened her into leaving Key West may still be there.
