My Hero Academia, Vol. 1
In a world where most people develop a superpower at the age of four, Izuku Midoriya has none.
About
My Hero Academia, Vol. 1 is a manga by the Japanese creator Kohei Horikoshi, published in 2014 and the opening volume of the series.
The premise of the world is that around eighty per cent of the population has a Quirk, an ability that appears in early childhood, and that having one decides what kind of life a person can expect. Izuku Midoriya is in the other twenty per cent. He has wanted to be a hero for as long as he can remember, and without a Quirk his chances of getting into U.A. High School, where heroes are trained, are close to nothing. Then he meets All Might, the greatest of the heroes, and the meeting changes what he believes is possible for him. The volume is drawn in black and white in the usual manga form and introduces the classmates and rivals who carry the story afterwards.
