Murder At Goldenleaf Apple Farm
Laura Evans has settled into running the cafe in the General Store of the Vermont town of Silver Springs, a long way from the high-pressure restaurant career she left in Boston.
About
Murder at Goldenleaf Apple Farm is a mystery novel by the American writer Jodie Morgan, published in 2025. It is the second book of the Silver Springs Mysteries.
Laura Evans has finally found a rhythm in Silver Springs, Vermont. She runs the cafe inside the town's General Store, which is a world away from the pressure of the Boston restaurant career she left behind, and she is building real friendships with people such as Evelyn, her knowledgeable neighbour, and Izzy, the enthusiastic young man who works at Goldenleaf Apple Farm.
The town's peace is broken when Vernon Reed, an apple farmer, is found murdered in his garage. The weapon is a bung hammer, a tool used in cider making, and it is found covered in Izzy's fingerprints, with one of his distinctive handmade bracelets lying at the scene beside it.
Laura is certain that the gentle young man who welcomed her to the town could not have killed anyone, and she sets about clearing his name, working with Evelyn and with her cafe colleague Jasmine to find out what Vernon had been doing in the months before he died. The killer, in the meantime, has a carefully built story to protect and is willing to do a great deal to keep it.
