Love Her or Lose Her

Love Her or Lose Her is a romance by the American writer Tessa Bailey, published in 2020.

Dominic is a man who shows affection by working and by keeping the household supplied, and he has never learned to say anything else; Rosie has spent years waiting for the person she married to reappear. Encouraged by her friends, she demands more and then takes the further step of signing them both up for a course that requires them to talk about their feelings in front of a therapist with very little patience. The novel alternates between the two of them, so the reader can see what Dominic cannot say and how Rosie hears it. Bailey writes a marriage in difficulty rather than a courtship, and the couple's business plans, their families and their old neighbourhood are all part of the repair.

It is one of a series of romances by the author set in the same neighbourhood, and it can be read on its own. The two of them have been married long enough for their problems to be structural rather than romantic.
