Kiss My Cupcake

Kiss My Cupcake is a contemporary romantic comedy by Helena Hunting, published in 2020. Blaire Calloway is opening a cupcake and cocktails shop and has planned the launch down to the tiniest detail.

The detail she did not plan for is her neighbour. Ronan Knight is opening an old-school sports bar next door on exactly the same day, and from Blaire's point of view he is the one thing standing between her and a successful launch.

The two of them spend the novel trying to outdo each other for the same customers, with axe throwing at his place and frosting contests at hers. He is described as appealing and infuriating in equal measure, which is the combination the book works from.

The rivalry is the courtship, and the novel is about two business owners discovering that the person they most want to beat is also the person they most want to see. Both of them have put their savings and their reputations into the same street, and neither is willing to move.
