Kender, Gully Dwarves and Gnomes
Kender, Gully Dwarves and Gnomes is an anthology of fantasy stories published by TSR in 1987, the second of the three Dragonlance Tales books.
About
Kender, Gully Dwarves, and Gnomes came out in 1987, published by TSR under the Dragonlance name. It was the eighth Dragonlance book to appear, and the second of the Tales anthologies.
The Tales books were a departure from the rest of the line. Where the Dragonlance novels had followed one group of characters from book to book, these collections move outwards, using a range of authors to explore different corners of the setting and different kinds of people in it, and they do not depend on the reader having followed the earlier series.
The other two books in the sequence are The Magic of Krynn and Love and War. This one holds ten stories by a range of hands, and it takes as its subject those races that had mostly been comic relief or background in the novels: the kender, with their inability to keep their hands off other people's property, the gully dwarves, and the gnomes. The result is a book that fills in the ordinary life of the setting, and it is usually read by Dragonlance readers as a companion to the main sequence rather than as part of it.
