Him
Jamie Canning and Ryan Wesley were roommates at hockey camp until Ryan cut him off without explanation four years ago, after something happened between them on the last night.
About
Jamie Canning has never worked out what he did to lose his closest friend. Ryan Wesley was his roommate at hockey camp, covered in tattoos, funny and willing to break whatever rule was in front of him, and one night at the end of the summer when they were eighteen something happened that neither of them spoke about afterwards. Ryan stopped speaking to him at all, and both went their separate ways into college hockey. The two of them are about to play each other at a national championship, which is Ryan's opportunity to explain himself, and neither has allowed for how much the other has been missed in the meantime.
The book is the first about the two of them, and it moves between their college seasons and the summer they met. When the championship is over Jamie has answers and a set of new questions rather than the explanation he was hoping for, and the following summer Ryan returns to the camp where they met to coach alongside him. Six weeks in each other's company is what finally forces the subject neither of them will raise.
