Grave Reservations
Leda Foley runs a small travel agency in Seattle and has an inconsistent gift for knowing things she should not.
About
Grave Reservations is a crime novel by the American writer Cherie Priest, published in 2021. It is the first of her books about a travel agent whose psychic intuitions are unreliable in every way except that they are real.
Leda Foley is the sole proprietor of a travel agency in Seattle and a regular at the open-mic nights of a bar, where she sings whatever song comes into her head while holding an object that belongs to somebody in the audience. Her readings are patchy, and she is the first to say so, but they are not nothing.
The person whose flight she changes is Grady Merritt, a detective with the city's police department, and the change saves his life. In return he asks for help with a murder case that has gone cold, and Leda agrees, partly because she has an unsolved killing of her own to think about. Working with a group of friends from the bar, the two of them follow the connection between the cases, which turns out to be closer than either of them expected.
