Full Moon Rising (Riley Jensen, Guardian, Book 1)
Riley Jenson is a rare hybrid of vampire and werewolf, and she works for Melbourne's Directorate of Other Races, which polices the supernatural and protects humans from it.
About
Full Moon Rising is a paranormal romance by the Australian writer Keri Arthur, published in 2006. It was her first novel in the genre, and it opens a series about a woman who is neither entirely vampire nor entirely werewolf.
Riley Jenson is a hybrid, and so is her twin brother Rhoan. They work for the Directorate of Other Races in Melbourne, an organisation set up to police the supernatural races and to protect humans from them. Rhoan is a guardian, which in practice means an assassin; Riley works in an office.
Her ordinary position ends when Rhoan disappears while he is out on a job. The timing could not be worse for her, because she is more werewolf than vampire and the full moon is close, which makes her vulnerable in ways she does not want anyone to know about. The novel follows her search for her brother through a Melbourne in which legends walk about in public and the paths of the underworld are more dangerous than most people imagine.
