Fool Moon
Harry Dresden is the only wizard in Chicago with an advertisement in the Yellow Pages, and he spends a good deal of his time helping the police with the cases nobody else wants.
About
Fool Moon is a contemporary fantasy novel by the American writer Jim Butcher, published in 2001. It is the second novel in The Dresden Files, which follows Harry Dresden, present-day Chicago's only advertising professional wizard.
Following the events of Storm Front, Kim Delaney, a young woman Dresden helped to learn control of her own magical abilities, asks him how to create a set of three magical circles that could contain powerful beings. He refuses to tell her, because circles of that kind are used to hold demigods and archangels and the knowledge is not safe in unpractised hands. Lieutenant Karrin Murphy then asks him to consult on a homicide in which the body of one of the mobster Johnny Marcone's henchmen has been found savaged, with wolf-like paw prints nearby. A team of four FBI agents orders them off the scene, and one of the agents shoots at Dresden and Murphy and nearly kills them both. Dresden follows a blood trace from the scene without telling Murphy where he is going, and it leads him into a confrontation with a gang of teenage werewolves.
The Dresden Files mix a private-investigation structure with an urban fantasy setting, and the series runs to a large number of books in the same first-person voice. This is the second of them.
