Flight or Fright

Flight or Fright was edited by Stephen King and Bev Vincent and published by Cemetery Dance Publications on 4 September 2018. An audiobook followed on the same day from Simon & Schuster Audio, read by a cast that included King and Vincent themselves.

The book began at a dinner in Bangor, Maine, ahead of a screening of The Dark Tower. King said that he hated flying, the table started talking about stories built on the fear of it and on the other things that can go wrong in the air, and he remarked that nobody had ever put a collection of flight-based horror together. Richard Chizmar, who was there, said he would publish it, and did.

The result is an anthology of short fiction, and of verse, in which every piece has some connection to flight, whether the horror lies with what is in the cabin, with what happens to the aircraft, or with the ground below. The audiobook was released at the same time as the printed edition, and it runs to the same contents.
