Fire and ice

Fire and ice is a romance novel by the American writer Susan Page Davis.

The book is about the Hollands, a family in Alaska whose life is built around a sled dog kennel. Robyn Holland's business is in difficulty, and somebody has been taking from it; when some of her best dogs disappear while she is trying to organise the Fire and Ice race, the situation becomes one she cannot manage on her own. She turns for help to a local veterinarian, Rick Baker, and the two of them work on the thefts together while the race preparations continue. The novel is written for readers who want faith to be part of the story, and it follows both the investigation and the relationship that develops between the two of them.

The race the family is preparing for is the reason the thefts are so damaging to them.
