The ability to manipulate time has come in useful for Caleb Edge in his career as a T-FLAC operative, and his current assignment is to get close to Heather Shaw in order to find her banker father and forty-eight billion dollars of missing terrorist funds.

About

Edge of Fear is a 2006 romantic suspense novel by Cherry Adair and part of the Men of T-FLAC sequence.

The plot puts an intelligence problem and a personal one in the same assignment. Caleb Edge is sent to approach Heather Shaw so that the agency can locate her father, a banker, and the missing terrorist funds, but she has been in hiding for a year and has no idea where her father is, which removes the value of the approach he was sent to make.

The second complication is the series' own rule: the powers Caleb and his brothers possess are said to carry a curse affecting their relationships, and Heather appears to be his life mate, which turns a professional operation into a personal risk. The series premise is that the Edge brothers can slow and rewind time, and the gift comes with the curse that runs through their family's relationships. Adair writes the operation and the romance as a single problem, since Caleb needs Heather to trust him while he is lying to her about almost everything and the deadline is set by the money and the people looking for it.
