About

Don't Scream is a horror novel for younger readers by R. L. Stine, published by Scholastic in 2012.

Jack Harmon's problem at the start of the book is the bullies at school. It stops being his main problem when he picks up a mobile phone left behind on the bus and hears a voice on the line that begins giving him instructions. The things the voice asks for are bad, and Jack carries them out anyway, trying to keep his new companion satisfied. Nobody else can hear the voice, so the people around him decide that something has gone wrong with Jack rather than with the phone. The phone keeps working and the voice keeps calling, however far he carries it from where he found it, and he can neither prove what is happening nor switch it off.
